A professional summary: Anu John is a Counselling Psychologist. A passionate advocate for the cause of
mental health and well-being among adolescents and young adults, her work experience involves
extensively training students in the area of enhancing mind skills along with creating modules to
enhance emotional intelligence to improve the overall productivity. She has an Honours in Psychology
from the University of Delhi and a Masters degree in Psychology from Montfort College, Bangalore. Anu
uses a multi-modal integrative eclectic approach to counselling.
While she keeps her therapeutic style centered around the Rogerian Person Centered therapy (PCT), she
uses techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Positive Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt
Therapy, Writing Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Behavior
Therapy, Humanistic Psychology, Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC’s), Strategic Planning, Alternative
Healing Techniques such as Meditation and Relaxation, Art Therapy, Self-Help, Assertiveness Training,
Psychological First-Aid, Social- Skills Training, Personality Development, Growth Psychology, Guidance
and Career Counselling to tailor her therapeutic approach suiting to the needs of each individual client. Additionally, Anu has also worked on formulating protocols and policies in line with child and adolescent mental health and Cyber Safety Laws. Her journal article for the highly coveted corporate journal- the Chemical Industry Digest- January 2022 annual edition on ‘Thriving Post-Covid: A Manager’s Guide to Building a Workforce Resilient to Pandemics and Other Crises.’ was a much acclaimed one. A voracious reader, she enjoys writing and has been part of several initiatives to make mental health awareness readily and easily accessible to all.
